Today we attended the 3rd of 4 classes at the Butler, in a series called “Monsters On Parade”. The kids are making pieces that will be included in the upcoming Maurice Sendak exhibit in June.
In the afternoon, we attended Young Historians (class rescheduled as Ms. Laura had a family emergency on the original date). They covered “Africa” and discussed some of the regions of the continent, languages and customs, music, and also art. They learned a few words in Swahili. The project was a canvas painted with mud, which dries with an interesting texture.
