Young Historians, January 2014

Today we attended the first of five “Young Historians Club” meetings. S9 did this program last year. This year, O8 will be joining her. They are studying a different culture/country each session. This first session was on China.

The kids had a chance to taste some tempura, learned some Chinese symbols, saw photos and objects from China, did a mapping activity, and also made some calligraphy and a faux screen by painting a scene on a taped cardboard “screen” shape.

S9 painted a volcano, and O8 made a garden scene.
