Violin and Swimming 5-14-2012

O6 went first today and played her new 1/8 violin.  She practiced transposing by playing Twinkle on the D and A strings instead of the A and E strings.  She worked on keeping her upper arm still while bowing.  She and S8 are going to attend Tina ‘s fiddle camp at the end of June, so they worked on a song for that. Finally, she worked on rhythm and maintaining a beat in the piece.

S8 worked on Allegro and played it through once by herself, then again with Tina accompanying her on piano.

At the end, another student joined us and they had an impromptu group session, playing Twinkle with several variations.

Tina said that camp would be a lot like this.
