Violin

We started back at violin today, after taking a year off while the girls’ teacher was out of the country.  Miss Tina is a wonderful instructor and quickly got the kids back on track.  I was amazed at how much they had retained in spite of no formal lessons for such a long time.

S7 was playing Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star by the end of her fifteen minutes.  She is supposed to practice her rhythmic bowing (mississippi hot dog) on the E and A strings, first one, then the other, then alternating; she is also supposed to play her A scale in both directions each day.  O5, who really wasn’t very enthused about starting her lessons again, was very compliant and played everything Tina asked her to without complaint.  She is also supposed to practice bowing on each string and has a coloring sheet to complete before next class.
