Wishful Thinking

S7 will occasionally feel the urge to write some spontaneous verse.  I’m not sure what prompts this, because while we do read some poetry together, it’s not often and it’s not flowery, saccharine stuff when we do read it.  And I’ve never asked her to “write a poem”.  So I was somewhat tickled (and surprised) to find this tidbit on the kitchen table the other day:

Poem

“I just wish I could fly like a bird,

Soar over the trees,

Have graceful wings,

Live out in a tree in a nest,

so it’s like a dream,

eat bugs for things like lunch, breakfast, and dinner,…”

I particularly like her elaborate commas.  🙂
