Cleveland Botanical Gardens

We finally made it up to the Botanical Gardens in Cleveland.  I am really glad we made the trip.  The gardens are beautiful, and also very kid-friendly.  They have a large children’s area complete with a big two-story treehouse and a floating dock that the kids can sit on and poke into the water.

As you enter the children’s garden, there is an activity cart with lots of things the kids can look for on their visit.

The paths are gently curved and offer lots of opportunities for wandering.

There are also plenty of places to climb,

and even rest when necessary.

Inside the building, there’s a rainforest with even more to see, including giant baobab trees. One of our favorite books is Antoine de St.-Exupery’s The Little Prince, in which the main character is always pulling out baobab sprouts so they don’t take over his little meteor. I now see why.

The rainforest gave us a chance to see more than just baobabs and plants, though.
