I’m just getting around to posting some of the pictures from our Easter egg decorating party. This was the first time we did this with the kids, and it was a success. Not a smashing success, thank goodness, but a lot of fun. They experimented with crayons and dyes, and we colored bantie hen and duck eggs in addition to the regular chicken variety. In case you’re not egg-savvy, the only real difference is the size. Here they are, left to right, bantam and chicken and duck:
The fun part was going out to grandpa’s farm and seeing the different birds that had laid each kind of egg. I hope he finds us a goose egg one of these days to add to our catalogue.
Here is L’s first ever decorated egg. She decorated it with a purple crayon and then tried to take a bite, which was not successful.
